Welcome to the Tast’Age community!

Tast’Age is an Erasmus+ project which addresses the topic of training professionals on the challenge of malnutrition in older people.

WHY TAST’AGE?

Malnutrition has a direct impact on the health and quality of life. In older people this can lead to mobility, cognitive and oral disorders, dependency, and social isolation. A deeper look into the problem, revealed a gap in terms of staff education and training of the professionals on the theme of nutrition in older people.

As a response to this, the Tast’Age partnership designed a solution that focuses on providing vocational education and training to professionals to fight against malnutrition in older people.

TAST’AGE OBJECTIVES

  • Provide high quality vocational training to better fight against malnutrition in people over 65.
  • Offer open and flexible access to learning and training materials and best practices to improve professional practices.
  • Encourage the uptake of digital learning and digital tools in vocational training.
  • Encourage transnational and multidisciplinary exchanges between partners of different countries and expertise facing joint challenges.

TAST’AGE FORESEEN RESULTS

  1. A new and innovative vocational training programme, addressing key challenge of malnutrition in older people and filling the gap of training offer in the field.
  1. The implementation of training modules tested and accessible as face-to-face and online courses.
  1. The development of a best-practice digital toolbox, on the topics of better alimentation, prevention, and solutions to fight against malnutrition in older people aged over 65.

PARTNERSHIP

The Tast’Age consortium is formed by seven partners from five European countries.

TAST'AGE MILESTONES

Among the first important milestones of the Tast’Age journey is the design and creation of the vocational training programme. During the past months the partners have been preparing the training structure and its modules and are currently adding the final touches and details.

The training is structured in seven modules, and it addresses topics like: seniors and nutrition,  nutritional recommendations, food supplements,  at home vs. in residencies for seniors, prediction and prevention, the role of the caregivers, health and pathologies and their impact of seniors and malnutrition, nutrition and physical activity, environmental considerations of eating for seniors and more.
